Medical Transport

Whether by air, ground, or virtually, the expert care delivered by our doctors, nurses, and paramedics comes in many forms. The STARS Emergency Link Centre also acts as a critical care logistics hub, connecting patients with help beyond STARS.

Fixed-Wing Aircraft

In addition to providing care on the STARS helicopter, our highly skilled air medical crews also work with other transport partners to provide care on missions onboard fixed-wing air ambulance aircraft in situations where advanced critical care is required and a fixed-wing aircraft is deemed to be the best option for patient transport.

Manitoba fixed-wing critical care

STARS is contracted by Shared Health in Manitoba to provide critical care onboard fixed-wing (airplane) air ambulances.

We respond specifically to patients in need of the highest level of care due to complex illness or severe trauma. We respond to approximately 500 critical care missions per year on fixed-wing air ambulances in Manitoba.

STARS does not own fixed-wing air ambulances; these aircraft are operated by a third-party.

Please note, STARS does not accredit this service to CAMTS Standards.
