Corporate Partnership Opportunities

When a life is on the line everyone has a role. The three distinct groups that make up STARS are our VIPs, our crew, and you – our allies.

It’s through the generosity of allies like you that STARS can deliver on its mission of providing critical care, anywhere. At STARS there are many opportunities for you and your business to get involved and make a difference.

Critical operations

When the worst happens, we’re the people to call. Our team’s advanced expertise in critical care is crucial. While most patients may not require our services, we’re dedicated to being there for those who do – those facing urgent, life-threatening emergencies.

Your organization’s support will help maintain our fleet of medically equipped helicopters, virtual care technology, and the STARS Emergency Link Centre, which manages hundreds of calls each week. Whether it’s through air, ground, or virtually, your contribution ensures that our doctors, nurses and paramedics deliver expert care.

Event sponsorship

STARS has several signature events and sponsorship opportunities across Western Canada which engage large audiences in various industries that organizations can align their brands with. Galas, radiothons, Rescue’ events, among others, provide the opportunity for organizations to:

  • Increase brand loyalty and reputation by sponsoring a cause that saves lives;
  • Differentiate your brand;
  • Grow awareness, visibility and interaction with your brand through multi-channel marketing campaigns;
  • Highlight your corporate social responsibility activities with your existing audiences while reaching new markets;
  • Network with target audiences and provide unique and purposeful client hosting opportunities.

The STARS events team will work with you to build custom sponsorship benefits and activation programs that will support your corporate social responsibility and marketing objectives.

Other ways to get involved:

  1. Cause-related marketing

    Cause-Related Marketing (CRM) is a unique partnership between your business and STARS that brings mutual benefits. Consumers now expect companies to be socially responsible. By implementing a CRM campaign, you can increase sales, foster customer loyalty, engage employees and strengthen your brand.

    Examples of how to partner:
    • Designate a percentage or set dollar contribution of sales from a product or service to give to STARS.
    • Ask customers or clients for a donation at the time of purchase or to round up their bill to the nearest dollar.
    • Sell coupons to consumers that offer deals and discounts with the proceeds of the sales benefiting STARS.

    A CRM campaign provides a win-win-win as your business will achieve marketing goals, STARS receives funds in order to provide critical care to the sickest and most injured patients and consumers feel good about supporting a company whose values align with their own.

    A best practice for a CRM is contributing a minimum of 10% of the sale of the product or service. Note that in order for recognition by STARS a minimum contribution is required.

  2. Organize an event

    Each year, hundreds of events are held to raise funds for STARS. These events are organized and sponsored by individuals and communities where we serve. Many of our events are initiated by corporate partners like you. Many corporate partners have the ability to match funds raised by employees through these events, increasing the impact these events have for STARS.

    STARS is able to provide support and a selection of promotional materials for use at your event, such as photos, videos, logos, poster templates, banners and signage and can even help arrange volunteers depending on the type and capacity of your event.

    Additionally, we’ve created an Event Toolkit with a number of templated resources to help get you started!

    For more information on hosting an event, please contact our events team: events@stars.ca

  3. Volunteer

    Through volunteering with STARS, organizations can engage employees looking to make a lasting impact. We have a wide variety of roles for volunteers including behind-the-scenes jobs such as event set up and take-down, guest registration, selling raffle tickets, participating in live and silent auctions and collecting donations. We can accommodate both group and individual volunteers.

    For more information on volunteer opportunities, please email volunteer@stars.ca

  4. Workplace giving program

    Workplace giving and employee matching gift programs have the potential to boost employee engagement by making it easy for employees to support causes that matter most to them.

    An employee matching gift program is an excellent way to amplify the impact your employees are having and many online programs have the potential to feature STARS as a charity of choice.

    Some companies offer matching or donations for volunteer hours by employees.

    STARS is also a great choice to feature at employee engagement sessions, promoting workplace giving programs by including speakers who are involved in our life-saving missions.

  5. STARS Vigilant (only available in Alberta and Saskatchewan)

    Did you know that every day, the STARS Emergency Link Centre monitors thousands of individuals and remote sites improving employee safety and emergency preparedness for organizations through our Work Alone and Site Registration services? STARS also works with Employee Health & Safety Teams to manage many organizations emergency response protocols through customized Emergency Response Plans.

    If you are interested in learning more about the Industry Services that STARS offers to support employee health and safety programs, please contact sales@stars.ca

  6. Allies for Life

    The Allies for Life program provides an opportunity for donors to give to what means the most to them at a level that is most comfortable. Not only do our highly experienced crews respond to calls for help using whatever means of transportation necessary, but we also educate, consult, and share our expertise with others who can benefit – with the goal of advancing care for all.

    When you support Allies for Life, you help ensure critical care is available anywhere, physically or virtually, and provide essential training to STARS crews and our communities. Here’s how to partner:

    The gift of Critical Care, Anywhere $10,000
    Your contribution at this level will help support the cost of a mission carried out by the STARS crew in our communities.

    The gift of Help & Hope $8,500
    Your contribution at this level will help support virtual care, the work of the STARS Emergency Link Centre, and our transport physicians who ensure the best critical care response is delivered to meet the needs of the patient.

    The gift of Safety $6,000
    Your contribution at this level will help make training opportunities available to members of our communities and ensure STARS can be there in the safest way possible when we’re needed.

    Your support means the world to our patients, their families, and our crews. When you become an Ally for Life, you help save lives.
