STARS is dedicated to community service, and as such, undertakes to enhance public awareness and education of the service it provides.  Whenever possible, STARS will try to accommodate tours of the base facilities and operation.

Tour Guidelines:

  • A maximum of 20 individuals will be allowed. Children under the age of eight must be accompanied by one adult per four children. A maximum of 10 individuals under the age of 14 will be allowed.
  • Length of tour varies depending on the group but usually takes between 45 minutes to one hour.
  • Proper footwear is required for entry to the hangar. Please ensure you do not wear open toed or backless footwear.
  • Tours are conducted by our excellent tour guide volunteers and consist of the following:
    • video presentation;
    • question period;
    • a visit to our STARS Emergency Link Centre (Calgary base only);
    • hangar and helicopter tour with STARS crew (if available).
