Right Now Hotshot Inc. first Fund-a-Flight donor in Grande Prairie
August 16, 2012
Grande Prairie, AB, August 16, 2012 – Right Now Hotshot Inc. is the first organization to support the new Fund-a-Flight program for STARS in Grande Prairie, which makes one mission possible for a critically ill or injured patient.
A donation of $5,400 – equal to one dollar per second of an average 90 minute mission – helps with the cost of medical and aviation crews, medical supplies and helicopter fuel needed from the time a STARS helicopter leaves the base, arrives on scene, and provides critical care and medical transportation for a patient.
“I truly believe STARS is an organization that is without question one of the best going, not only for the service they provide, but for the professionalism and caring that comes with it,” said Right Now Hotshot owner Gary Donohue. “The way I look at it is, it could be myself, a family member, a friend, a customer, or a complete stranger that needs help. Knowing that you helped save someone in need is priceless.”
“Fund-a-Flight connects our donors directly to the impact their donation makes in the life of one patient,” says Erin Sharp, director of new initiatives at STARS.
Donors who fund a flight will be listed on the STARS website and will receive a STARS plaque of support detailing the mission their donation helped make possible.
