STARS Opening Critical Care Simulation Centre

May 12, 2011

Grande Prairie, ALBERTA, May 12, 2011 – STARS is hosting an air medical crew simulation competition together with the grand opening of a new STARS Critical Care Simulation Centre at 11 a.m. on May 12, 2011. Media are invited to the event which is taking place at the STARS Grande Prairie base located at 10911 123 Street (Grande Prairie Airport). Lunch will be served.

There will be three STARS teams involved in the competition, including two from Grande Prairie and one from Calgary. The teams will be competing to represent STARS at the Air Medical Transport Conference in St. Louis, Missouri. The competition will take place in October 2011. STARS consistently places in the top three in this annual competition which involves flight crews from all over North America.

Background:

STARS is a charitable, non-profit organization that has carried out more than 20,000 missions in Alberta and eastern British Columbia since it began in 1985. We currently provide service 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from bases in Calgary, Edmonton and Grande Prairie.
