STARS celebrates renewed partnership with Viterra
September 11, 2017
Winnipeg, MB – Viterra Inc. (“Viterra”) is pleased to announce that it is continuing its partnership with the Shock Trauma Air Rescue Service (STARS) to sponsor its 2018 fundraising calendar. Viterra has sponsored the STARS calendar campaign since 2015 by covering the full printing costs of each of the more than 70,000 calendars sold across Western Canada every year.
The calendars will be available for purchase at most Viterra facilities in Western Canada. This year’s campaign kicked off at STARS’ Winnipeg base at an event with officials from both organizations as well as employees and local media.
“STARS and its talented team of professionals have done an amazing job of developing the tools and resources needed to save lives,” said Kyle Jeworski, Viterra’s President and CEO for North America. “Through its continued passion and commitment, we have an invaluable and elite emergency medical service. Viterra and STARS share a common connection to rural communities across Western Canada, and we’re proud to continue helping them tell their inspirational stories.”
The annual STARS calendar campaign is a long-standing and important fundraiser for STARS. The campaign is entering its 25th year and has raised millions of dollars to-date with over 500,000 door-to-door visits made each year.
“Viterra’s sponsorship of the STARS calendar directly contributes to the success of this important annual fundraising and awareness campaign,” said Andrea Robertson, STARS president and CEO. “Each month, the calendar features a patient story as well as images of our crew and our allies who make STARS possible.”
The calendars will be available until December at most Viterra locations, as well as online at starscalendar.ca. Those interested in purchasing a calendar, or making a donation to STARS, are encouraged to contact their local Viterra facility for more information.
