STARS base opening doors to the public

May 22, 2015

Winnipeg, MB, May 22, 2015 – The Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society (STARS) is opening its doors to the public on Saturday May 23, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. as part of our 30 year anniversary celebrations across Western Canada.

This event is an opportunity to see the helicopter and meet STARS air ambulance’s pilots, nurses, paramedics, and doctors. STARS has flown more than 29,000 emergency responses since our non-profit organization began in 1985, including 3,084 missions in 2014-15.

11 a.m.: Doors open
11:30 a.m.: Speeches
Noon: Demonstration helicopter take-off and landing

The Half Moon Drive In food truck will be on-site with proceeds to STARS.

Event activities
· Public viewing inside the helicopter cockpit and medical interior.
· Meet STARS VIPs (very important patients).
· STARS merchandise table.
· STARBEAR the mascot will be at the event.
· Tour the Mobile Education Unit and see the human patient simulator.
