Development Officer

Location: Regina base

The Development Officer will be responsible for coordinating and implementing STARS fundraising activity in Regina and the southern Saskatchewan. Key accountabilities include establishing and maintaining professional and productive relationships with donors, volunteers and other organizational supporters. Primary duties will be the successful identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major gifts from foundation, corporate, community and individual donors as well as management of STARS fundraising events and support of other community fundraising initiatives. This position will report to the Foundation’s Executive Director, Saskatchewan.

You have 3 – 5 years of proven experience in event planning and fundraising solicitation, with superior communication skills and strong competencies in planning, budgeting, sponsorship and funding proposal development. You are a highly polished relationship-builder with the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure. You are able to create strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and comfortable supporting a diverse array of volunteers. Technical skills including MS Office, Raiser’s Edge, and Net Community round out your skillset. You are willing to travel, and able to work some evenings and weekends.

A post-secondary degree in business management or nonprofit studies in a related discipline is preferred.
