Communications & Marketing Manager

Location: Calgary base

Leading a small team of communicators, the Communications & Marketing Manager will plan, execute and evaluate a suite of communications tools and services in direct support of the organization’s vision of saving lives through partnership, innovation and leadership. The team supports STARS and the STARS Foundation across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba and is accountable for all major communications functions, with the exception of media relations, which is managed by another team member.

In your current or most recent role you have lead, supported and mentored a small team, managed and protected brand integrity as well as developed and executed employee communication programs. You have significant experience managing

e-communications properties, including websites and social media platforms. Communications planning and support for a fund development programs and campaigns is a substantial share of your repertoire as is planning and executing of publications.

Your resume indicates that you have a degree or diploma in communications or public relations with accreditation and illustrates a minimum of 7 years of generalist communications experience with at least some team leadership experience. You have been acknowledged for your well-developed communications planning and evaluations skills and exceptional organizational, problem solving, written and oral communication skills. You are proud of your ability to be a brand champion and your ability to translate complex messages into simple communications. You understand that accreditation (ABC or APR) would be an asset to this role.
