Director of Development, Alberta North, STARS Foundation
STARS’ Foundation is seeking an experienced fundraiser to be our Director of Development, responsible for supporting the Foundation’s senior leadership team to drive STARS’ growth in the Edmonton area and northern Alberta through major gifts. The Director will work closely with the Foundation’s Vice President, Major Gifts & Campaign, to help develop and implement an integrated major gift and capital campaign strategy across three provinces. The Director will also manage a personal portfolio of major gift donors and prospects.
We are seeking a seasoned fund development leader with a proven track record of success working with major gift fundraising and individual giving, having personally closed gifts and grown overall major gift program revenues. The successful candidate will bring a focused approach to donor engagement to ensure a remarkable experience for all donors. A confident leader, the Director will lead by example and rally the team around common goals.
Demonstrated best practice knowledge and personal success in major gift solicitation and in closing gifts are key requirements of the role. In addition to exceptional team leadership, you will also have strong data management skills utilizing Raiser’s Edge (or a comparable relationship database), as well as the ability to understand the nuance and collaboration required to thrive in a complex, matrixed, multi-provincial service-delivery and fundraising organization. The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree and bring at least 10 years of fund development experience.
