STARS is one link in the Chain of Survival. Our partners in that chain include:

• Local EMS
• Dispatch centres
• Fire and police services
• Search and rescue organizations
• Emergency medical teams

The STARS Chain of Survival Program was established to assist emergency partners in the community with their equipment and training needs.

Since 1999, 633 organizations have received more than $3.5 million in funding.

The grant application committee has been comprised of volunteer representatives from various emergency services along with STARS. 2010 grant applications are not being accepted at this time while the process and program are being reviewed.

STARS will announce when future applications for the Chain of Survival Program are being accepted. Project applicants who have applied under the 2008 Chain of Survival Program have been notified of the status of their applications. The 2008 recipients are listed here:
